Sevilla Into Copa Del Rey Semis After Big Aggregate Win Over Atletico

Sevilla are the first team to book a place in this season’s Spanish Copa Del Rey semi-final after they surprisingly recorded a big aggregate win over favourites Atletico Madrid in their last eight tie.

Vicenzo Montella won 2-1 in the away leg and it didn’t take them long to extend that advantage at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium with Sergio Escudero giving the home side the lead in the opening minute.

Antoine Griezmann netted a very good goal to pull his side level on the night after thirteen minutes but that was as good as it got for the capital club as Ever Banega (penalty) and Pablo Sarabia scored two second half goals to secure a 3-1 win and a 5-2 victory on aggregate.
