Serie A Review: Roma Capitalise On Inter Loss To Secure Top Three Spot

Capital club AS Roma have moved above Inter Milan into the top three after they defeated hosts Udinese 2-0 in their Matchday 25 clash courtesy goals from in-form Cengiz Under and Diego Perotti.

Roma (50 points) usurp Inter Milan from 4th to 3rd with the win after the Nerazurris suffered a 2-0 loss at Genoa with Andrea Ranocchia (own goal) and Goran Pandev (against his former side) getting the goals. Udinese remain in 10th spot with 33 points from 25 league games.

Inter Milan (48 points) drop from 3rd to 4th as a result of the defeat while their conquerors Genoa (30 points) still stay in 12th position despite the win.

In the final league game played on Saturday in the Italian Serie A, Chievo Verona defeated Cagliari 2-1 to move above their opponents into 14th spot with all the goals coming in the last quarter of the game.

Emmanuel Giaccherini and Roberto Inglese edged the hosts 2-0 ahead before Leonardo Pavoletti’s 82nd minute strike set up a grandstand finish as Chievo held on for the points to move to 25 points, same as their opponents Cagliari (15th spot).
