Serie A Review: Napoli Annihilate Cagliari To Go Four Points Clear

League leaders Napoli have moved four points clear at the top of the Italian Serie A following the 5-0 thrashing they handed out to their hosts Cagliari in their Matchday 26 clash on Monday night.

Jose Callejon and Dries Mertens gave the visitors a 2-0 lead at halftime before further goals from Marek Hamsik, Lorenzo Insigne (penalty) and Marco Rui to round up the convincing victory.

The win takes Napoli (69 points) four points clear at the top of the table ahead of defending champions Juventus (65 points) though the Turin giants have played one game less.

The outstanding game came about after their home game against Atalanta initially scheduled for Sunday evening was called off due to weather conditions.

On the other hand, Cagliari stay in 15th position on the Serie A league table after amassing 25 points from 26 league matches.
