Serie A Side Set to Sign Ola Aina on Permanent Basis from Chelsea

Torino have activated their option to buy Chelsea full-back Ola Aina following his impressive spell last season.

The 22-year-old had an impressive campaign for the Serie A side last season after joining them on loan from Chelsea.

Aina made 30 Serie A appearances for Walter Mazzarri’s men – 22 from the starting lineup – while also providing three assists to help Torino finish seventh on the table.

And after his convincing displays, Torino have decided to trigger their €10m option to make the youngster’s stay permanent.

Speaking to Sky Italia, Torino president Urbano Cairo said: “We’ve redeemed Aina for €10 million, as well as Cristian Ansaldi, and Koffi Djidji. Now Torino own all their players.”

Aina joined Chelsea academy in 2002 and made his senior debut under Antonio Conte in August 2016.

The full-back is currently on international duty with the Super Eagles squad preparing for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt this month.

Nigeria are paired in Group B alongside Burundi, Guinea, and Madagascar. They kickoff their campaign on June 22 against Burundi.
