Serie A Review: Napoli Regain Summit With Slim Win Over SPAL After Brief Juventus Ascent

Napoli have regained the lead on the Italian Serie A table after they defeated lowly SPAL 2013 by a lone goal at home courtesy an early goal from midfielder Allan.

The club record ninth successive Serie A win recorded on Sunday evening was enough to move Maurizio Sarri’s men to 66 points and one point clear of title rivals and defending league champions Juventus.

The Old Lady had earlier gone to the top after beating Torino 1-0 as well in their Turin derby with Brazilian left-back Alex Sandro getting the goal for the visitors.

The derby played out to the return of their star player Paolo Dybala though the Italian giants also lost in-form Gonzalo Higuain to a first half injury.
