Serie A Review: Napoli Pass Tough Lazio Test In Flying Colours To Regain Top Spot

Napoli have regained top spot on the Italian Serie A table after they survived a scare against Lazio before sealing an emphatic 4-1 home victory in their huge clash on Saturday night.

Stefan De Vrij had given the visitors a 3rd minute lead only for Spanish forward Jose Callejon to wipe out that lead just before the interval.

The Callejon goal was the tonic Napoli needed as they produced a magnificent second half performance with three more goals to show for it.

Wallace put through his own goal to edge Napoli ahead before Marco Rui’s strike paved way for a contender for goal of the season from Dries Mertens who finished off Lazio by scoring a well worked team move for his team’s 4th goal.

The win takes Napoli back to the league summit above champions Juventus who had gone to the top on Friday night with a 2-0 victory at Fiorentina.
