Sergi Roberto Signs New Barcelona Deal Until 2022

Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto has put pen to paper on a new contract with the Spanish giants.

His new contract will take him to 2022 with a release clause of €500m

The new development was confirmed by the club’s official Twitter account.

The 26-year old Spaniard, who is a product of the club’s famed La Masia academy, joined the club at the age of 14 and has gone on to score 7 goals in 187 appearances for the Catalan club.

His biggest moment in the Blaugrana shirt was undoubtedly when he scored a last minute goal to help Barcelona beat PSG 6-5 on aggregate in their UEFA Champions League (UCL) round of 16 clash last season despite the fact that his team lost the away leg 4-0.

His trophy count includes 4 La Liga titles, 2 Champions Leagues, 4 Copa del Reys, 4 Spanish Supercopas, 2 European Super Cups and 2 Club World Cups.

Sergi Roberto is almost certain to add another league title with the club currently seven points clear of nearest challengers Atletico Madrid on the Spanish league table.
