Sassuolo Secure Loan Transfer For Locatelli From Milan

Italian Serie A side Sassuolo have completed the loan transfer of midfielder Manuel Locatelli on loan from five-time European champions AC Milan.

The 20-year-old joins Sassuolo from fellow Italian club Milan on a season-long loan for a fee of €2m (£1.8m/$2.3m) with the option of a permanent transfer for €12m (£10.7m/$13.6m).

He was unveiled as a new signing at Sassuolo on Monday ahead of the club’s league season opener against Inter Milan at the weekend.

AC Milan also confirmed the deal via their official website as the club praised Locatelli for his contributions in the club’s famous colours.

“AC Milan wishes Manuel the best of luck in his future sporting career, thanking him for his professionalism and commitment to the club.” AC Milan said.

Italian U-21 international Manuel Locatelli rose to worldwide prominence in October 2016 when he scored a very good goal to lead Milan to a 1-0 league win over champions Juventus.

In total, he made 63 appearances for the Italian side over three seasons, with his best spell coming during the 2016/17 season.

He scored two goals in 25 league matches during this season.

Locatelli will be expected to feature for the Azzuri squad when they host the 2019 European U-21 Championship next June.
