Rohr: We Don’t Have A Goalkeeper Problem (Audio)

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has insisted that he does not have a goalkeeper problem and that he trusts his goalkeeper.

Rohr made this known while he was speaking with the media in his post-match press conference after the game against the Three Lions of England at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening in what was a warm up game ahead of Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The Franco-German tactician watched as his side trailed 2-0 at halftime through goals from Chelsea defender Gary Cahill and England captain Harry Kane before Alex Iwobi halved the deficit in the second half but his team failed to get an equaliser as the game ended 2-1 in the favour of Gareth Southgate’s team.

First choice goalkeeper Francis Uzoho was in goal for the Super Eagles and he was largely culpable for the second goal conceded to Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane prompting the talks about the goalkeeping department.

In his words, Rohr said: “I trust our goalkeeper. For me, we don’t have a goalkeeper problem.” he added.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in Group D at the World Cup in Russia.
