Rivers Hoopers’ Odaudu Wins 2024 Basketball Africa League Coach Of The Year Award

Ogoh Odaudu of Rivers Hoopers was named the 2024 Basketball Africa League Coach of the Year.

Odaudu was announced as the best coach prior to Rivers Hoopers’ third-placed game against Cape Town Tigers on Friday.

He eventually led his team to a dominant 80 points to 57 win against the South Africa side to land an historic third-placed triumph.

Rivers Hoopers became the first Nigerian team to claim a medal at the Basketball Africa League.

Born in Jos, Odaudu played for the junior Nigerian national team at the 1999 FIBA U-19 World Championship.

The 42-year-old was a member of the Nigerian senior team and played with the team at the 2001, 2003 editions of FIBA Africa Championship. He also played at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
