‘Real Problem For Opposition Defences’ — Alonso Raves About Boniface Impact At Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has showered encomium on Victor Boniface following his impressive display against Borussia Monchengladbach last weekend.

The 22-year-old netted a brace in Leverkusen’s 3-0 victory at the Borussia Park.

It was Boniface’s first two goals in the Bundesliga.

The Nigerian also bagged an assist on his debut against RB Leipzig.

Alonso was quick to praise the strike for his impressive displays since his arrival at the club.

“Victor’s a real problem for opposition defences. He’s powerful, quick and makes runs from deep. He has a good mentality and works for the team, not for himself,” Alonso told Bundesliga.com.

Boniface arrived Leverkusen from Belgian Pro League outfit Union St Gilloise this summer.

He was joint-top scorer in the UEFA Europa League last season with six goals from 10 games.
