Real Madrid Secure Odriozola Transfer From Sociedad (Video)

European champions Real Madrid have signed Spanish right back Alvaro Odriozola from fellow La Liga side Real Sociedad.

Odriozola, 22, joins Real Madrid on a six-year deal after the Los Merengues agreed to pay the €40m buyout clause in his contract at San Sebastian.

His signing was confirmed by the club’s official website which also revealed that the transfer is subject to a medical.

He will provide stiff competition for first choice right back Daniel Carvajal at the Estadio Santiago Bernebeu though he can also play as a winger.

Alvaro Odriozola,  who is a product of the Real Sociedad Academy, has four caps for Spain and was part of the squad that crashed out to hosts Russia on penalties at the ongoing FIFA World Cup tournament.
