Prudent Energy Handball Premier League Set To Commence

The 2021 Prudent Energy Handball Premier League will commence on 20 October, organisers, the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) have announced.

The tournament will run till 4 November at the Indoor Sports Hall of the MKO Abiola National Stadium and will feature 22 teams – 12 men and 10 women teams – competing in a round-robin format for the title in both categories.

HFN secretary-general Maigidansanma Mohammed says teams competing in the tournament must conclude all player registrations and other formalities before Friday, 15 October.

“It’s going to be a better competition than last season and that is why I urge participating teams to ensure that they complete their transfer registrations so that there won’t be any hitches ahead of the commencement of the league,” Alhaji Maigidansanma said in a statement.

Meanwhile, reelected HFN President Samuel Ocheho praised sponsors Prudent Energy for keeping faith with the competition and promised that the league, in its fourth edition, will be better than previous editions.

“The Prudent Energy Handball Premier League 2021 will be better than the previous seasons and for us a Federation we thank Prudent Energy and Services for keeping faith with us for the past four years,” Ocheho said.

“This will afford us the opportunity to continue the discover new talents with great potentials and helping them to maximize it,” Ocheho concluded.
