The defending champions in the men’s category beat COAS Shooters 30-24 in a thriller that delighted the watching fans to move up to third on log.

Meanwhile, league leaders Kano Pillars defied the partisan support of the home crowd to defeat local favourites Lagos Seasiders 36-33 while Plateau Vipers scored a 30-26 win against Sokoto Rima.

De Defenders edged Owena Kings 28-24, Safety Shooters ruthlessly dispatched Prison Key Boys 34-16 in a one-sided encounter while Kada Stars earned a 29-23 victory over Bornu Spiders.

In the women’s category, Safety Babes extended their lead on the log with a straightforward 35-23 defeat of Desert Queens while home team Seasider Babes were no match for Abia Valliants who were crushed 31-19.

In other matches played on Monday, Kada Queens narrowly defeated Defender Babes 22-19, Owena Queens inflicted a merciless 24-5 drubbing on Imo Grasshoppers and in the result of the day, Edo Dynamos showed incredible mettle to defeat defending champions Plateau Peacocks 19-18 to move up to second place on the log.
