Manchester United and champions Chelsea have narrowed the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester City after their respective 3-1 wins on Saturday.

United defeated Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium courtesy goals from Jesse Lingard (2) and Antonio Valencia while Eden Hazard (2) and Alvaro Morata scored to hand Chelsea a 3-1 win over Newcastle United in the first match of the day.

The win takes Manchester United to within five points of city rivals Manchester City while Chelsea are three points further back though City can stretch that lead again when they host West Ham United on Sunday evening.
