Premier League Review: Manchester City Edge Chelsea To Open 18-Point Lead

Leaders Manchester City have opened up an 18-Point lead at the top of the Premier League table after the Citizens defeated Chelsea 1-0 in their Matchday 29 clash at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening.

After a goalless first half, in-form Bernardo Silva edged the champions-elect ahead just after the interval and that was how it stayed for the remainder of the game as Pep Guardiola’s team completed a league double over the outgoing champions.

The win was enough to take Manchester City to 78 points and 18 points clear of nearest challengers Liverpool (60 points) though city rivals Manchester United can trim the lead back to 16 points if they secure victory at Crystal Palace on Monday night.

Manchester City now need four wins only from the remaining nine league games to win the Premier League title.
