Premier League Review: 10-Star City Maintain Run As United, Chelsea Keep Up The Chase

Manchester City will take some stopping if the evidence of the scintillating football they have played this season is anything to go by and that continued at the King Power Stadium on Saturday as they defeated Leicester City 2-0 in their Matchday 12 clash.

Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne either side of halftime was enough to give Manchester City a 10th successive league win thus maintaining their eight points lead at the top of the table.

City rivals and nearest challengers Manchester United kept up the chase with a 4-1 win over Newcastle United with the help of returning big guns like Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Former Juventus midfielder Pogba scored on his return to action in addition to further goals from Anthony Martial, Chris Smalling and Romelu Lukaku, who ended his goal drought dating back to September.

Champions Chelsea are also on City’s trail after they thrashed West Brom 4-0 to heap more pressure on manager Tony Pulis. Eden Hazard stole the show with two goals for the visitors in addition to other strikes from Alvaro Morata and Marcos Alonso. Antonio Conte’s men are 9 points adrift of Manchester City.
