English Premier League (EPL) giants Manchester City have penned a huge deal with Amazon Prime for a behind-the-scenes TV series following the Etihad Stadium outfit throughout the course of the current season (2017/18).
The TV series deal is reportedly worth more than £10m and it is likely to feature on Prime’s on-demand video service in autumn 2018 since the league body has already vetoed it.
This is coming on the back of Wednesday’s announcement of the encouraging financial figures posted by the Citizens.
The new figures showed a 21% increase in turnover to a record £473m.
Speaking about the new partnership, the club’s chief executive Ferran Soriano said:
“Amazon Prime Video is the perfect home for a ground-breaking project.”
“It will offer a unique and authentic inside view into Manchester City’s season.” he added.
There is no better time to be a Manchester City fan with the club now adding off-field results to the ones recorded on the pitch.
Pep Guardiola’s men have won their last nine games in the league to move eight points clear of nearest challengers Manchester United (2nd place) and Tottenham Hotspur (3rd place) in addition to booking their place in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) last 16.
