Otele scores for Žalgiris busybuddiesng.com

Nigerian sensation Philip Otele scored his third goal in two games to move top of the goalscorers chart as FK Kauno Zalgiris routed Banga Gargzda in the A Lyga on Sunday.

Otele, 22, followed up his brace against FC Hegelmann in midweek with his sixth league goal of the campaign to put Zalgiris ahead after teammate Renato Matos da Silva cancelled out Simonas Urbys’ early opener for home side Banga Gargzda.

A Michael Thuique Dias Santos strike and a brace from Deividas Sesplaukia after half-time completed a 5-1 demolition of Banga Gargzda and moved Zalgiris to within three points of leaders Suduva after nine games.

The Port Harcourt born Otele has emerged this season as one of the best performers in the Lithuanian topflight, his return of six goals in nine games firing FK Kauno Žalgiris’ title challenge and giving them the best goals difference in the league.

He has now moved level with Suduva’s DR Congo striker Kule Mbombo on six goals in the race for the golden boot.

Otele will look to take command of the goals chart when Zalgiris travel to FK Nevezis on Thursday, 29 April.
