
Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has stated he is opened to inviting more players to the team.
Peseiro invited three new players; Gift Orban, Victor Boniface and Jordan Torunarigha for the team’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe.
With the Super Eagles already assured of a place in Cote d’Ivoire 2023, the Portuguese was expected to have invited more new players for the game against the True Patriots.
The 63-year-old has however defended his decision stating that he is already looking forward to the World Cup qualifiers and AFCON.
“It is important for us to look ahead of the World Cup qualifiers and the AFCON in January. So it is important for us to spend time together, work on tactics and improve on a lot of things,” Peseiro said at his pre-match conference on Saturday.
