‘Pay Me My Money’ – Duke Udi Fires Back At Ondo State Government

Former Sunshine Stars head coach Duke Udi has called on the Ondo State Government to pay his money after his contract was abruptly terminated.

Duke Udi was relieved of his duties as Sunshine Stars gaffer on Tuesday by the Ondo State Government based on the recommendations of the Ondo State Football Agency.

When asked about the decision to sack him via Punch, Duke Udi said, “If it is so, that is no problem. I have a one-year contract with the team and if anybody is asking me to leave, they must respect my contract and pay me my money.”

“Leaving is not a problem. I just left training and nobody told me anything like that but if stepping aside is the next thing, they have to pay me because I have a one-year contract still running.” he added.

Former Super Eagles midfielder Duke Udi left Osun United to take charge of Sunshine Stars last season and thereafter led the Akure Gunners to safety.

He had an indifferent start to the current season and that culminated in him leaving Sunshine Stars in 17th position on the Premier League table, with 13 points from 12 matches though it must be pointed out that the team was given a three-point deduction penalty earlier in the season.
