Palace Turn To Nigerian-Born Player To Solve Goalscoring Problems

Struggling English Premier League (EPL) side Crystal Palace are weighing up a move for Nigerian-born forward Carlton Cole in the attempt to solve their goalscoring problems.

Cole, 33, is currently a free agent after the 10-month contract he signed with Indonesia Super League outfit Persib Bandung in March was terminated last month.

Londoners Crystal Palace have so far remained scoreless after the first six league games of the season ahead of Saturday’s tough trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United. To make matters worse, they are currently without their first team strikers because of injury.

Belgium striker Christian Benteke sustained a knee ligament injury during last weekend’s 5-0 loss at Manchester City and has been ruled out of action for the next six weeks while long-term injury casualty Conor Wickham is not expected back until January at least.

Club manager Roy Hodgson definitely has a lot of things to worry about with his side rooted to the bottom of the EPL table with 0 point and 0 goal this season. He replaced Frank De Boer some weeks back after the Dutchman was sacked after four league games only.
