Owumi Elected Ex-Rangers Footballers Association Chairman

Davidson Owumi has emerged as the chairman of Ex-Rangers International Football Club Association of Enugu.

Owumi, who is the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, was elected chairman on Tuesday after he won the election.

He finished first with 33 votes during the election that was conducted at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu ahead of Arthur Egbunam (18 votes) and Stanley Okoronkwo (0 vote).

For the post of Secretary, Edmund Ndukanma won with 35 votes ahead of Sunday Emele (15 votes) while Christian Isiadinso also became the vice chairman with 25 votes after beating Ifeanyi Ezeji (16 votes) and Ignatius (9 votes).

Michael Ogbodudu defeated Akim Ashiru with 37 votes to 10 votes to emerge as the financial secretary.

The three posts of Publicity Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasury and Welfare officer were un-opposed.

Harrison Okagbue and Joseph Aniadinso emerged the Publicity Secretary and Treasurer while Napoleon Ilozulu and Ifeanyi Mazili became the Assistant Secretary and Welfare Officer respectively.

The Association’s Grand Patron, Emeka Nwosu, while speaking after the election revealed that it was free, fair and transparent.

In his words, Emeka Nwosu said: “As u can see today emerged a new chairman, Davison Owumi and I think everything went smoothly and there are no manipulation of any sort.”
