Osimhen Reaches Agreement To Leave Lille for Serie A Giants

Victor Osimhen has reportedly selected Napoli as his destination of choice for the 2020-21 season according to reports in Italy.

The much-coveted forward is currently on the wishlist of every major club in Europe after a barnstorming debut season in Ligue 1 with Lille.

Despite Liverpool showing the most interest in recent weeks, Italian site Sempremilan published claims attributed to journalist Alfredo Pedullàthe that 21-year-old striker has rejected Jurgen Klopp’s advances and “given the green light” to Napoli.

The Naples side would still need to satisfy Les Dogues’ €60m valuation to seal a deal for the Super Eagles ace.

If the move to Italy materialises this summer, it would mark a third club move in as many years for Osimhen following stints at Sporting Charleroi and Lille.

The former Wolfsburg who has arrived in Nigeria following a family bereavement was Lille’s top scorer with 18 goals and he also supplied six assists in 38 appearances before the campaign was curtailed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Napoli have seen their fortunes dip this season after recent years challenging for the Serie A title.

They are currently sixth in the Italian topflight, nine points from the champions league spots but would hope to move up the table when the league resumes following the coronavirus-induced stop in play.
