Osimhen cleared to resume training after injury scare

The medical team of Sporting Charleroi has cleared Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to resume training following the injury he sustained against Gent on Friday, December 14.

The striker’s availability for Belgian First Division A tie against Zulte-Waregem and Standard Liege was left doubtful following his abrupt substitution as the game against Gent was coming to a close.

Osimhen was said to have undergone a routine scan on Monday, and it was positive news as he didn’t suffer any menacing injury.

There have been some fitness concerns with Osimhen upon his return to Belgium after in his international with the Super Eagles in November 2018.

Inclusive of his strike against Gent, the former Golden Eaglets player has tallied nine goals across all competitions this season, with eight in the Belgian top flight.

Sporting Charleroi presently sits sixth on the log with 30 points after winning four of their last five matches in the division.
