Oscar Pistorius Released On Parole From South African Prison

11 years after the shocking killing of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, double-amputee Paralympic and Olympic sprinter, Oscar Pistorius appears to heave a sigh of relief after he was released on parole from prison.

Recall that Pistorius shot Steenkamp four times through a locked bathroom door in his home in Pretoria on February 14, 2013.

He has maintained that he did not kill her in a fit of anger during a Valentine’s Day argument, as prosecutors argued, and said instead he had mistaken her for an intruder.

According to reports from CNN on Friday, Pistorius was granted parole in November after serving half of his 13-year sentence for the shooting, which made him eligible under South African law.
