Gift Orban was on target for Gent who defeated Standard Liege 2-1 in the Belgian UEFA Europa Conference League play-off on Saturday night.
It was Orban’s 11th goal in 12 appearances in the Belgian first division since joining them in January.
The Nigerian striker opened scoring in the 31st minute before his teammate Hugo Cuypers bagged the winner.
Gent are top in the four-team play-off and are five points ahead of second placed Standard Liege.
Meanwhile, Victor Boniface also got on the score sheet in Union St.Gilloise’s 2-1 away win against Club Brugge in the Belgian Championship player-off (title play-off).
Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika featured for Club Brugge.
Boniface broke the deadlock with four minutes left in the first half for his eight goal in the league this campaign.
In the four-team Championship final play-off, Union St.Gilloise move up to second spot behind leaders Genk.
