Olisadebe Eagerly Awaiting Eagles, Poland Friendly

Nigerian-born ex-Polish international forward Emmanuel Olisadebe has revealed that he’s looking forward to the high profile friendly game between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Poland.

The game is scheduled for the Municipal Stadium in Wroclaw on Friday night.

Olisadebe, who scored 11 goals in 25 appearances for Poland, was speaking about the game in a chat with AFP.

In his words, he said: “This will be a good test for both teams before the World Cup and the result does not really matter.”

“Poland will face Senegal at the World Cup and so Nigeria will be a good African test for them.

“Nigeria, on the other hand, will from this game know their level of readiness for the World Cup. I believe the better team on the day will win.” he added.

On Poland’s current FIFA Ranking (6th), Olisadebe, who also featured for the European nation at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, said: “They have some very good players, who play for good teams in good leagues around Europe.”

“They deserve their rating because they have won some important games.” he concluded.

He thereafter pinpointed Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski as the main man.

Olisadebe said: “He is their best player by many miles… The Nigeria defenders also play in Europe but it is not often that they come up against such a top striker like him.”

“They will need to stay fully concentrated and be focused for them to have a good game tomorrow.” he stated further.
