Okagbare Continues Disappointing IAAF Golden League Run In Stockholm

Queen of Nigerian tracks Blessing Okagbare on Sunday continued her disappointing IAAF Golden League run in Stockholm, Sweden with an uninspiring fifth place finish in the 100m.

Okagbare returned with a time of 11.29secs to finish behind Germany’s Gina Luckenkemper (11:23 secs), Trinidad and Tobago’s Michelle Lee-Ahye (11:11 secs), Murielle Ahoure of Ivory Coast (11:03 secs) and Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith, who won in 10.93secs.

She had earlier finished fourth in the Oslo leg of the Diamond League held on Thursday.

The Commonwealth Games champion clocked 11.12secs at the Bislett Games in the 100m to finish behind Lee-Ahye (11:06 secs), Asher-Smith (10:92 secs) and Ahoure who won the leg in 10.91secs.

Okagbare, however, has another opportunity to redeem herself at the IAAF World Challenge in Ostrava, Czech Republic on Wednesday as well as the Paris leg of the IAAF Diamond League later in the month.
