Oghenekaro Etebo Close To Watford Move – Reports

Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo is on the verge of sealing a loan move to newly-promoted Premier League side Watford FC according to reports in England.

The 25-year-old Stoke player has been linked with a move to Vicarage Road in recent weeks and reports indicate negotiations are at an “advanced stage” with the Nigerian set to undergo a medical soon.

He will sign a one-year contract with an option to buy if the move materialises, reports say.

Etebo has two years left on his contract with Stoke who he joined in 2018 but has spent the last two seasons on loan at Getafe and Galatasaray.

He has 33 caps and two goals for Nigeria’s Super Eagles and was part of the team that won bronze at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Watford gained promotion to the Premier League last season and have been bolstering their ranks with Nigerian talent.

The Hornets already have Eagles vice-captain William Troost-Ekong and Isaac Success in their squad and recently signed Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis to their ranks.
