Official – Everton Completes The Signing Of Sigurdsson From Swansea City

Everton have completed the signing of Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea City for £45m on a five-year deal.

Sigurdsson becomes Everton’s record signing, breaking Romelu Lukaku’s £31.8m transfer fee paid to Chelsea by Everton in 2014.

Speaking about the move, Sigurdsson told Everton’s official website: Hopefully I will continue to create goals and score goals for the team and contribute to the kind of success we’re seeking at the Club,”

“This is an ambitious club and it is clear we are moving in a really good direction. The most important thing is that this team keeps winning games and climbing the table – and does that throughout the season.”

The 27-year old Iceland international was pivotal to Swansea’s Premier League survivor last season, scoring 9 goals and providing 13 assists, as The Swans beat the drop.

Gylfi Sigurdsson joined Swansea City from Tottenham in 2014, scoring 34 goals in over 100 appearances at the Liberty Stadium to become Swansea’s highest goal scorer in the Premier League.
