NWPL SUPER 4: Ikechukwu Expresses Confidence in Rivers Angels to Win the Double

Rivers Angels forward, Vivian Ikechukwu, believes her side can challenge for the Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) title and make it a double following their triumph in the AITEO Cup last October.

Ikechukwu, who is an integral part of the Rivers Angels team says the team has shown pedigree this season and with a bit of improvement, they can challenge and win the prestigious title in Lagos.

Speaking with the NWFL Media, the optimistic forward noted that, she has a lot of confidence in her teammates and is very sure that they can win back the title they lost to Nasarawa Amazons last year.

“This is the first time I am playing in this competition and I can’t wait for that feeling. We didn’t do very well in the last Super 4 championship held in Benin City. But this time around, we want to become champions of the league again and that is exactly what we are working towards.

“That is my target now and for the team as well. We have shown that we can do it and if we keep the same momentum we have had over the just concluded season, then we can be sure of something good in Lagos,” the former C.O.D Ladies forward said.

Ikechuckwu has won two titles with Rivers Angels after switching move from Abia Angels and really hopes to win a double with them this season.

“I am happy with my achievement here in Porthacourt”, Ikechukwu told the NWFL Media.

“We are hopeful for a double this season because that has been our target from the beginning of the season. We are physically and mentally ready to succeed in Lagos,” she concluded.
