NWFL Super 6 Top Scorer Ikekhua Delighted With Maiden League Title (AUDIO)

Rivers Angels striker Oghenebrume Ikekhua has expressed delight at winning a first-ever league title and golden boot at the recently concluded NWFL Super 6 in Ijebu Ode.

Ikekhua scored five goals including the first in the 4-0 thrashing of Sunshine Stars in the final game of the season-ending tournament as the Jewels of Rivers claimed a record-extending seventh league crown last Sunday.

The triumph meant Rivers Angels sealed a place at the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers and Ikhekua says the accomplishments of the title and highest goalscorer award leaves her very happy.

“I feel very happy, because me coming here, I’ve not won even normal Premier League, I’ve not won it before,” she said.

“So, me getting a CAF ticket is a plus to me and a plus to the team so I’m very happy about it.

“When the tournament started I said to myself that I want to be the highest goal scorer of this tournament that is about to kickoff so me being the highest goalscorer now, I feel very happy about it and I’m grateful to God.”
