NTTF Names Team For ITTF Endorsed Tournaments In Ghana

The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) has shortlisted seven boys and five girls that will represent the country at the ITTF World Junior Circuit (WJC) and African Junior and Cadet Championship (AJCC) in Accra, Ghana.

Nigeria had missed out in the last two editions of the AJCC and will be aiming to dethrone defending champions Egypt at the continental showpiece which serves as qualification for the 2019 World Junior Championship holding later in the year.

The 12-man team will compete at the WJC and AJCC events respectively.

The team led by National junior champion, Azeez Solanke includes Augustine Emmanuel, Jamiu Ayanwale, Abayomi Animashaun, Taiwo Matti, Musa Mustapha and Mustapha Mustapha for the boys’ team while Vivian Oku, Roafiat Jimoh, Iyanuoluwa Falana, Sukurat Aiyelabegan and Sadiat Akeem make up the girls’ team. They will be graciously guided by three coaches.

This is the first time in sixteen (16) years that a West African country will be hosting an international table tennis tournament. The competitions which will commence on April 1 will last for 13 days.
