NSF Begins Open Tournament To Select Scrabble Players For International Competitions

The Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF) has started an open tournament to choose scrabble players that will represent the nation at international competitions

This was disclosed by the coach of the Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF), Anthony Ikolo, in Abuja on Tuesday.

According to him, the five-day selection tournament started on Monday in the oil rich city of Port Harcourt and will end on Friday.

Anthony Ikolo also confirmed that the top 20 players in Nigeria are presently doing battle for the federation to be able to select only the best players for international competitions such as the Africa Scrabble Championships, Mattel World Scrabble Championships in Britain and Alchemist Cup in Malaysia.

He further stated that 15 players will be picked for Africa Scrabble Championships, while eight and five players will be selected for the Mattel World Scrabble Championships and the Alchemist Cup respectively.
