NPFL: Usman Abd’Allah Leaves Wikki Tourists

Usman Abd’Allah has resigned as Wikki Tourists Technical Adviser after just 14 months in the job.

Abd’Allah handed in his resignation letter on Monday, 17 May but made no mention of his reasons for quitting.

“With much respect and gratitude for having the privilege to work with you, I am very sad to tender my resignation as the Technical Adviser of Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi,” Abd’Allah wrote.

“I wish the club success in its future endeavours.”

The France-based coach replaced Garba Ibrahim at the Bauchi side on an initial five-month deal in January 2020 just days after being let go by Enyimba with the remit to secure their top-flight stay with Wikki Tourists in 14th place at the time.

The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic meant the 2019-20 season couldn’t be completed and he was retained for the 2020-21 season.

A steady start to the season has been marred by a recent downturn in form since the restart and a 5-1 loss at Katsina United followed by a 2-1 reversal at home to Nasarawa United are likely to have contributed to Abd’Allah’s premature exit.

Abd’Allah who won the NPFL title with Enyimba two seasons ago departs Wikki Tourists with the club in 15th place, four points off the relegation places.
