NPFL: Two Referees To Face Disciplinary Action Over Handling Of League Fixtures

The Nigeria Referees Association has invited two Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) referees for questioning over their handing of opening day fixtures.

Prince Isiah and Ahmed Rabiu respectively officiated NPFL 2019/2020 Matchday 1 and Matchday 2 fixtures between Katsina United Vs Enyimba and Heartland Vs MFM.

The duo are expected to report to the Committee’s office in Abuja next Tuesday with detailed reports of the matches according to a release signed by the publicity secretary of Nigeria Referees Association, Kelechi Mejuobi.

Their invitation is not unconnected to the manner with which they handled the games which held on 3rd and 10th November at the Muhammadu Dikko and Dan Anyiam stadiums.

Heartland FC lost by a lone goal in front of home fans while Katsina United were held 1-1 by Enyimba.

Both referees who have been mandated to arrive Abuja on December 1st are expected to report themselves to the Head of Refereeing/Secretary of the NFF Referees Committee on arrival, the release said.
