NPFL: Relegation Bound Niger Tornadoes Appoint New Sole Administrator

Niger Tornadoes in a bid to escape relegation in the 2019 Abridged Nigeria Professional League have appointed Engr. Ibrahim Dada as the Sole Administrator of the Club.

A day ago, the government of the state through the Sports Commissioner Emmanuel Babur in a statement by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary dissolved the defunct management over the club’s dismal performance in the ongoing League.

The statement read, “In spite of several meetings and advice from the ministry to the management, the management has continued to demonstrate the lack of wherewithal to bring the club out of its present predicament. The poor performance has led to a loss of confidence in the team by the club’s supporters.”

Dada, who formerly served as the Vice Chairman of the Bosso Local Government Football Association is expected to steady the ship for the Minna based side who have only eleven games left to determine their fate in Nigeria’s topflight domestic league and the statement released prior the sack of the former management didn’t hide that fact.

“The Sole Administrator will work with the ministry to bring the club out of the relegation zone.’’

Dada’s first assignment will be against Rivers United at the Yakubu Gowon stadium as the Allah Okon Boys hope to win their second match of the season.

Niger Tornadoes currently occupy the 12th position on the 12-club 2018/2019 NPFL Group A table with 10 points from 13 matches.
