NPFL: Ogbe Bites the Dust at Tornadoes

Bernard Ogbe has left his position as Technical Adviser of Niger Tornadoes following their 3-1 defeat away to Katsina United.

The former Mighty Jets of Jos gaffer reportedly handed in his resignation to club vice-chairman Bello Auta and club secretary Aliyu Muazu at the Mohammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina immediately after his side’s loss.

Ogbe who only joined Tornadoes in the offseason after coaching them in the past had endured a torrid start to the season failing to win any of his side’s six matches. Tornadoes record under him read three draws and three losses with all draws coming at home.

The team’s stuttering form had led to the coach and his technical team being issued with a five-game ultimatum to turn the team’s fortune around by the state’s ministry of sport.

However, the team fell to losses against Enugu Rangers and Katsina United in their subsequent games and it appears the veteran coach had decided to jump before being pushed.

The club’s vice-chairman Bello Auta confirmed Ogbe’s departure to the club media and wished him luck in his future endeavours.
