NPFL Matchday 4 Review: Champions Plateau United Secure Top Spot With Dominant Victory As Akwa United Win At Tornadoes

Champions Plateau United have moved to the top of the table following their 3-0 thrashing of El-kanemi Warriors at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos in what was a week 4 clash.

Jimmy Ambrose, Joshua Obaje and Raphael Ayagwa got the goals for Kennedy Boboye’s side.

Akwa United are up to second place behind Plateau United after an impressive 2-1 win at Niger Tornadoes with former Remo Stars forward Victor Mbaoma getting the winner to make it 2 goals from 2 appearances after Nosiru Afees’ 42nd minute strike cancelled out Dennis Nya’s opener for the Promise Keepers.

Newly promoted side Kwara United are off the bottom after they recorded their first victory of the season with a 1-0 win over Wikki Tourists despite playing a fraction of the game with ten men.

The only goal of the game was scored by Stephen Alfred in the 14th minute and it was enough to take Kwara United off the bottom of the league.

Enyimba are the new team at the bottom though they have a chance to climb off the bottom when they face Nasarawa United at home.

In the pick of the other games, the immediate past champions Enugu Rangers made it two successive wins with a 1-0 victory over Katsina United courtesy Godwin Aguda’s 78th minute strike.
