NPFL Matchday 14 Review: Lobi Stars Extend Lead With Comeback Win

League leaders Lobi Stars have extended their lead at the top of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) table to three points after they came from two goals down to beat Rivers United 3-2 at home in their Matchday 14 clash.

Ezekiel Mbah shot Lobi Stars into the lead from the penalty spot on 18 minutes before Oche Salefu equalised for Rivers United three minutes later via a penalty.

Frederick Obomate added a second goal for the visitors nine minutes from the halftime interval before two second half goals from Lobi Stars forward Austin Ogunye turned the game in his side’s favour.

In the pick of the other games, Akwa United, in second spot, played out a 1-1 draw against Abia Warriors at home while Yahya Kone scored a hattrick to give FC IfeanyiUbah a 3-0 home win over Plateau United thus becoming only the second player to score three goals in a game this season.
