NPFL: Katsina United Aim For A Clean Home Record As Kwara Come Visiting

Katsina United will hope to humble Kwara United when both teams face-off Sunday in one of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 11 fixtures at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.

‘The Changi Boys’, who lost 1–0 to Rivers United in their last game in Port Harcourt, will hope to return to winning ways when they host ‘The Harmony Boys’.

Katsina United remain unbeaten at home since they gained promotion back to the NPFL in 2017 and they are willing to throw everything into this game to ensure that they keep their home record alive.

Kwara United who are still in celebration mood over the 2–0 victory recorded in their last home match against regional rivals Niger Tornadoes will come to this game with all level of serious so as to ensure they get a positive result in this mouth-watering encounter.

The fact that ‘The Changi Boys’ have won all their homes game thus far this season is a huge boost going to this game.

While Kwara United will bank on their good run of form on the road that have seen them draw two games away from home against Insurance and Rivers United in the NPFL matchday 4 and 7, respectively.

Katsina team will rely once again on the services of their mercurial midfielder Destiny Ashadi and star players like Lukman Muhammed, Usule Martins and goalkeeper Dami Paul to do the damage against stubborn Kwara United on Sunday

Coach Abubakar Bala’s team who are likely to parade star players like Segun Alebiosu, Samsudeen Hashim, Lookman Binuyo, goalkeeper Yusuf Mohammed and Katsina United former striker Ebenezer Odeyemi would definitely want to be a hard nut to break for ‘The Changi Boys’

Katsina United head coach Abdullahi Biffo told www.fckatsinaunited.com that it will be a difficult game considering the pedigree of the two sides, but he’s certain Katsina United will carry the day.

“No doubt, Kwara United are a good side; the game will be difficult, but I am optimistic that my team (Katsina United) will win the match,” he declared.

“We cannot afford to drop any points at home because this league is a difficult one. Every game is very important and we will take them one at a time.

“The players are fully ready because they are all aware of the importance of this game.”

Both teams clashed last season in the NPFL and it was Kwara United who claimed a 2–1 victory at the Kwara Sports Complex Stadium in Ilorin.

The reversed fixture of the game was canceled as a result of the indefinite suspension of the league by the LMC.

However, Katsina United took their revenge in the quarterfinal of the Aiteo Cup with an emphatic 3–1 victory at the Agege Stadium in Lagos the same season.

Destiny Ashadi, Tasiu Lawal and Usule Martins were all on target, while Segun Alebiosu scored Kwara United only goal of the game from the penalty spot.

Katsina United have dropped to the eighth position on the league table with 10 points from eight games, while Kwara United are fifth with 12 points from nine games.
