NPFL: Insurance Coach Reveals Cause Of Defeat To MFM (AUDIO)

Chief coach of Bendel Insurance Baldwin Bazuaye has attributed his side’s 2-0 loss to MFM FC in a Match Day 11 fixture in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Sunday to loss of concentration.

Goals from Olawale Abisoye and Michael Ohanu either side of half time handed the ‘Church Boys’ their 7th win of the campaign, to cement top spot in Group A of the NPFL with 21 points, five ahead of second-placed Enyimba who drew with Sunshine Stars in Akure.

The defeat ensured Insurance – who made a return to the top flight after almost 11 years – remain in the relegation zone in the 11th spot (out of 12) with just 9 points from 10 matches.

“It is not what we expected that we saw,” Bazuaye lamented. “It was just by a little bit of loss of concentration by my players during the last 15 minutes.

“It’s just a flick, it just came and it entered. After playing a very good game for almost 35 minutes, and that flick came and MFM took the chance.

“Everything I say is always on concentration and I think we paid for it by not concentrating in the last minutes.”

He however remained confident his team will bounce back from the defeat to improve their fortunes in the NPFL this season.

“I think we are going to work more, we’ll keep working to see how we will adjust some certain things with these players,” the former U-23 coach said.
