NPFL Hotshot Abia Receives Eunisell Golden Boot, Prize Money For Emerging 2019/20 Top Scorer

Rangers International striker Israel Abia has been presented with the prestigious Eunisell Boot Award and cash prize for finishing the 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) campaign as top scorer.

In a short but colourful ceremony at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium in Enugu on Sunday, Abia was handed the Eunisell Boot and a cheque of N2.4m for his effort.

The former Sunshine Stars goal poacher netted 12 times to emerge highest goalscorer in the campaign, which was cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Leading chemical firm – Eunisell – rewards each goal of the league’s top scorer with N200, 000 (around $487).

The 27-year-old scored 7 goals for Sunshine Stars, before moving to Rangers halfway through the season, where he added 5 more to take his tally to 12.

Nasarawa United striker Silas Nwankwo is the leading candidate for this season’s Eunisell Boot award, with 18 goals so far, three ahead of Akwa United forward Charles Atshimene, who has netted 15 times.
