NPFL: Gbenga Ogunbote Gives Excuses for Enugu Rangers’ Drop in Form

Gbenga Ogunbote, gaffer of 2018 Aiteo Cup Champions, Enugu Rangers,  has blamed the recent run of poor results in recent league games to fatigue, temporary drop in form and injuries to key players.

Ogunbote stated this while interacting with the media ahead of his team’s final group game against Wikki Tourist.

He said, “it is unfortunate that we suffered a run of poor results after going unbeaten for close to 13 matches. We suffered injuries to several players like Bobby Clement, Uche Nwafor, Seka Pascal and others.”

The former Enyimba Manager, however, re-emphasized the determination of his team to finish the current NPFL season on a high note.

“Now, we are back and sure to grab the ultimate prize after finishing the first phase of the league successfully,” he added.

The Flying Antelopes are currently on top of the Group A log of the abridged League with 40 points from 21 games and will seek to improve their point tally on Sunday in Bauchi when they tackle 8th placed Wikki Tourist in the last game of the group.

The top three teams in Group A and B of this season’s abridged League will battle it out in a Super Six tournament for the title.
