NPFL: Frenchman Soccoia Parts Company With Kano Pillars

Kano Pillars technical adviser Emmanuel Lionel Soccoia has reportedly left the four-time league champions just five months into a one-year contract with the Nigeria Professional Football League side.

Reports suggest the former Black Leopard of South Africa coach quit over unfulfilled contractual obligations including five months unpaid arrears of $25000, management’s interference in team selection and the inability of Pillars to procure a work visa for him five months into his appointment.

Pillars are yet to officially confirm Soccoia’s resignation.

Frenchman Soccoia joined the Sai Masu Gida in October taking the position of Ibrahim Musa who was demoted to chief coach.

Soccoia’s appointment enabled Pillars meet CAF requirements for a CAF A Licensed coach to take charge of their Confederation Cup campaign where they lost to Senegal’s ASC Jaraaf in the preliminary round.

The former Coton Sports boss leaves with Pillars 5th in the table and just hours before they take on leaders Kwara United at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
