NPFL: Ezenwa Dropped Ahead of Niger Tornadoes Clash

Katsina United and Super Eagles shot-stopper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has been ruled out of today’s NPFL crunch clash against Niger Tornadoes at home no thanks to a facial injury.

The Super Eagles goaltender, who shone in Osogbo but could not save Katsina United from a  2- 0 defeat to Remo Stars, has been declared unavailable for this weekend’s tie after he was elbowed flush in the face during that game.

Katsina United coach Abdullahi Biffo told www.fckatsinaunited.com that Ezenwa has not fully recovered from the injury to face Niger Tornadoes.

“Yes, Ezenwa won’t make the squad that will face Tornadoes because of the knock he picked during our match against Remo Stars,” he said.

“He is still going through treatment and has not been certified by the doctors to play, but hopefully he will be fit and available to face Bendel Insurance on Wednesday.”

Biffo will thus have to call on the Niger Republic international Kassaly Daouda, who was on the bench in the last match, to replace Ezenwa in the starting team.
