NPFL: Enyimba Thrash Rivers United, Rangers Hold Sporting Lagos

Holders Enyimba maintained their push for a successful title defence following a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Rivers United.

Rivers United struck first through Andy Okpe on 14 minutes.

The hosts fought back with Chijioke Mbaoma and Elijah Akanni scoring a brace each.

Rangers maintained top spot on the table courtesy of a 0-0 draw against Sporting Lagos at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.

Gombe United were relegated to the Nigeria National League after going down to a 2-0 home defeat against Sunshine Stars.

Promise Awosanmi and Lucky Nwafor were the goal scorers for Sunshine Stars in the game.

At the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, Niger Tonardoes held Kwara United to a 1-1 draw.

Dehinde Ibrahim gave Kwara United the lead three minutes after the hour mark.

Bashir Usman equalised for Tornadoes in added time.
