Victor Mbaoma and Cyril Olisema scored either side of Israel Abia’s effort as Enyimba edged Rangers in a rescheduled NPFL matchday 20 fixture on Thursday in Aba.

A madcap opening saw Mbaoma’s 3rd-minute opener cancelled by Abia three minutes later before Olisema scored what proved to be the winner in the 32nd-minute.

The win lifts some pressure off Fatai Osho following the 3-1 defeat at Katsina United at the weekend while Rangers’ recent poor run of form continues as they have now recorded just one win in their last five games.

Enyimba, who still have two games in hand, climb a place above Rangers to 6th on 44 points, six off leaders Akwa United.
