NPFL: Draw At FC Ifeanyiubah “Better Than Nothing” – Eguma (AUDIO)

AUDIO: We will Do Everything Possible To Defeat Enyimba – Eguma

Rivers United boss Stanley Eguma has described his side’s goalless draw at FC Ifeanyiubah on matchday 15 as “a valuable point” gained which is “better than nothing”.

Rivers United followed up last week’s 2-0 home win against Jigawa Golden Stars with a second straight draw away from home to stay three games unbeaten.

The draw against relegation-threatened FC Ifeanyiubah lifted Rivers United to 7th in the table on 23 points, just one off the top four positions while the home side remained mired in relegation trouble, three points from safety in 18th place.

And after seeing his side lose two on the bounce before their recent run of good form, the long-serving Eguma who said his target was to claim all three points, declared himself happy with one especially as it was gained away from home.

“It’s a valuable point I must say. It’s better than nothing but I must say we prepared to get the three points here today but unfortunately we were able to get one. We make do with that one, It’s ok. We thank God for it and we are going to work harder for our next game,” he said.

Rivers United are next in action against host MFM FC who they host at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Wednesday 17, March.
